Day two of our 2014 Client Connection Forum was just as jam-packed with informative sessions and discussions as the first – and we sure enjoyed all of the information our attendees were able to provide us, which we’ll be able to bring back to the office with us, and into our core Avionté Staffing Software product.
We all had a fun, late night of at The Union Rooftop and The ShoutHouse, but most attendees arrived bright and early again Thursday morning to mingle and enjoy some coffee and breakfast pastries before heading into the General Assembly room for a fun trivia game our Customer Care team put together called the “Avionté Home Run Derby”.
Did you know how many offices Avionté has had since it was formed, or what the company was named before it became “Avionté”? Anita Horath from Mau Workforce Solutions, which has been on Avionté since 2011, answered an impressive amount of our trivia questions right to win the game, and she posed for a photo with our CEO John Long before he transitioned into the next session by introducing our guest speaker, President and CEO of the American Staffing Association Richard A. Wahlquist, to the stage.
Richard spoke for about 45 minutes about the state of the staffing industry, its trends, and how to best plan for the future. Check out yesterday’s blog post for a recap of what Richard covered in his session.
Then, from 9:15 to 10:00 a.m., attendees heard from five of Avionté’s integration partners: ADP, Odell Studner, Essential StaffCARE, Global Cash Card and PeopleG2. We’d like to give a big “thank you” to our vendors for presenting and for joining us at Client Connection this year!
Attendees split up into six designating rooms for what was next: our Development Summit! Avionté staff listed main items to cover – like time clocks, deductions, commissions, check corrections, taxes, and more – on the whiteboards at the front of the rooms, and attendees were told to “dream big” and write their requests on post-it notes for features and things they’d like to see in the Avionté product.
After a full morning, we wanted our attendees to experience a true Minnesotan summer lunch, so we took them just outside the Convention Center for an outdoor lunch, provided by four local food trucks! Attendees chose from a large selection of tacos, sliders, barbeque sandwiches and more, and ate and socialized on the nearby picnic tables.
The afternoon was broken out into three 50 minute sessions. Attendees could sit in on round table discussions to covering a variety of topics: compliance, reports, workflows, eDocs, QA and evals, taxes/year-end, growth, and ACA. In each of these sessions, Avionté employees and Client Connection attendees bounced around ideas for dealing with industry changes, bettering their processes, etc. It was a great afternoon of idea sharing!
Although we were sad to have to wrap things up at the Convention Center, we were all excited to wind down with good food, drinks, lawn bowling and great conversation on the rooftop of Brit’s Pub, which is located just a few blocks from the Convention Center and The Hilton. It was a blast! We got a lawn bowling tournament going, and attendees stayed late into the evening.
