Serent Capital is a growth equity firm based in San Francisco that invests in profitable, high growth businesses to build great businesses. Their mission is to deliver extrordinary returns by partnering with outstanding executive teams to grow exceptional businesses.
The firm partnered with Avionté in January, 2014. Serent’s Board of Directors works with Avionte’s CEO John Long to help Avionte achieve its ultimate potential through thematic sourcing, comprehensive diligence, and extensive business building efforts.
Here’s a brief introduction to Serent Capital’s core team.
Meet the Board
Kevin Frick is the Co-Founder of Serent Capital and has counseled executives from over 50 companies, in the areas of sales force design, pricing, product strategy, and operational improvements. Kevin got his BS at the University of Michigan and his MBA at Stanford University.
As the Vice President of Serent Capital, Jon Cheek helps the firm lead their technology enabled business investment thesis. Before joining the Serent team, Jon worked for Hearsay Capital, Vector Capital and McKinsey & Company, and earned his BS and MBA from Stanford University.
Will Clemens is the senior operating executive for Serent Capital and serves as both a board member and consultant to Serent portfolio companies. He was formerly the CEO of Zephyr Associates, among other positions, and completed his BA at the University of Virginia.
Brian has over 20 years of experience leading high growth software businesses. Most recently, Brian was the President and Chief Executive Officer at Convey Compliance prior to its sale to Vista Equity Partners in 2014. Brian’s commitment to hiring and developing great talent and delivering a superior client experience is the cornerstone of the cultural norms that he operates by daily. Brian earned a BA from Bethel University.
With a long history in human capital management, Teresa Creech has spent her career optimizing the intersection of flexible talent and demand. In 2015, Creech became CEO at ICon Professional Services, a provider of payroll and independent contractor compliance, which merged with competitor Synergy Services in the Fall of 2015, giving the combined company spend under management of $400 million. Creech now leads the combined firm in executing a strategy to transform the world of independent work.
