Avionté RAW: Real Analytics Weekly – Week 35

Week 35 slow down could be the result of summer to school transitions for many firms

Week 35 was a slower week for the staffing industry.  Anecdotally, several customers reported a slow down as summer to school transitions were happening.   Assignments were down slightly by -.8%, though hours remained in positive territory.

Here are the numbers:

Staffing Metrics Week 35

Although the week was modest, I like the 4-week total percentage improvement in all the major indices.  To me, this shows a strong, sustained recovery.  Billing had a big week and has out paced Gross Payroll for the last month.

We’ve added New Talent to the mix.
New Talent is simply defined as new talent records entered that week.  It’s a good proxy for new individuals looking for work.  This week was a solid week at 1.9% Week-over-Week, bringing the 4-week total to a healthy 5.6% growth.   This pattern is consistent with the other major indices.
