Week 20 was a very strong week for staffing, posting the largest hours & assignments combination since the start of this unmistakable recovery. The highlight for us: 3.7% more paid assignments than the prior week!

Today, the US economy announced another brutal unemployment claims number, bringing the total to 20.5 million and resulting in a 14.7% unemployment rate – the highest since the Great Depression. Many questions remain, from where will this slide end to how will this impact staffing.

In these unprecedented times, every business wants to get a peek into the future. Keying on the term “unprecedented” though, inherently means that no one really actually knows. Here at Avionté, we also wanted to find insight into the near future.

A few months ago, we wrote a post on 7 Productive, Unique and Fun Places to Work Remotely that was filled with ideas to help business professionals spice up their remote work-life but unfortunately, most of the ideas were before COVID-19. No longer is working from a brewery or coffee shop a viable option.

We’re sure by now you’ve seen no less than 20 or so emails, hundreds of news articles and perhaps thousands of social posts regarding COVID-19 and how businesses plan to take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Working remotely, or at least occasionally, is rapidly becoming the new norm, especially in the staffing sector. In fact, it’s estimated that 73 percent of teams will have remote workers by 2028.

Let’s face the facts, the unemployment rate is the lowest it’s been in decades, creating a very tight talent market that over 20,000 staffing & recruiting firms (among others) are competing for.

Why Social Responsibility Matters In a nutshell, social responsibility is the belief that businesses should do more than just contribute to the economy, they should add to society too by making a positive difference to the following categories (among others):
