The Avionte Hope Foundation – November Updates

The Avionté Hope team has been busy! Here’s an update on all we’ve been up to this November.

After winding down from the fun Halloween costume contest events, Avionté began collecting food items at the office for Second Harvest Heartland, an organization that warehouses and distributes food to local food shelves, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior community centers and children’s after school programs across the state.

Avionte Hope Foundation Donations To add to the fun, Avionté proposed to donate $1 to Open Arms of MN for every food item brought in, and challenged employees to see who could stack their food towers the highest. By the end of the challenge, Avionté had collected nearly 300 food items (over 260 pounds of food!), and one of the towers stood at over six feet tall, taller than our trainer Rob Harker!

It was a fun way to get some friendly competition going in the office for a good cause.

This month, Avionté also participated in GiveMN’s annual “Give to the Max Day” online: a one-day event in which hundreds of Minnesota nonprofits are featured on the GiveMN website and donations that come in on that day are matched by GiveMN. Avionté chose to donate to Smile Network International, The Link, Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, and Pillsbury United Communities.  The day was a huge success! Minnesotans donated more than $18 million to their favorite schools and charities across the state during what the site calls a “24-hour giving marathon”.

It was a fun month of Avionté Hope Foundation activities! For other updates, and to learn what our Nepal team has been up to, go to the Avionté Hope website.
