2021 Staffing Industry Statistics: Week 5
Week 5 was a mixed week, though I’d like to take a more optimistic view of the data. Assignments were moderately up at 1.3%, though hours and gross were down. In general, almost all metrics were up in the month. For the below chart, we are just showing Week over Week and then YTD – which compares against week 2 – so that it isn’t compared against a short week. In addition, Gross Payroll includes fluctuations with bi-weekly payroll. This year, we have slightly more wages on even (“on”) weeks than odd (“off”) weeks – which can have between 1% and 2% swing.
This week’s staffing industry statistics: Week 5
With new unemployment applications continuing to ease down, I believe assignments will continue to grow. If we can average even .5% per week, we could have a GREAT year in 2021.
I’ll start showing graphs on week by week change so far in 2021 next week. Here are some graphs showing hours and assignments over the course of the last 3+ years.
