9th Annual Avionté Staffing & Recruiting User Conference CONNECT Kicks Off: Day One Recap

On August 1, 2018, Avionté Staffing and Recruiting Software kicked off its first full day of their annual user conference, CONNECT, hosted for the first time in Saint Paul, Minnesota at the InterContinental. More than 400 Avionté clients attended the annual CONNECT event, along with more than 15 partners and numerous Avionté employees.

By providing a unique opportunity for clients to gather and build face-to-face relationships with the people behind their software, CONNECT is an industry-leading event where people gather to grow their staffing and recruiting knowledge and optimize their success with Avionté Software. This year’s CONNECT event focused on how Avionté and clients are “Partners in Innovation” – working to consistently bring new innovation to clients’ businesses and providing a solution that runs staffing and recruiting businesses end to end.

To officially kick off the event, Karl Florida, Chief Executive Officer, and John Long, Founder and Co-Chairman, took the stage in the Minnesota Grand Ballroom. After their presentation, Rachel Graff, Learning Experience Designer, and Tony Poetz, Director of Training Content & Delivery, finished up the welcoming speech and presented the keynote speaker for the day, Toby Malara, Government Affairs Counsel from the American Staffing Association (ASA). Malara advises on all staffing-related legislation and regulation, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), immigration/I-9, paid sick leave, sales tax and per diem issues.

During his keynote speech, Malara spoke about the continuous growth of the staffing and recruiting industry. In 2017, staffing sales were up 4.4% and the industry helped more than 15 million people find jobs. As a people-oriented industry, he talked about how the staffing and recruiting industry, even when facing several challenges, continues to grow rapidly. After the keynote ended, clients headed to various roundtable and breakout sessions for the remainder of the day. Sessions focused on a variety of industry-specific trends and challenges, Avionté Software, future roadmap initiatives and Avionté Partner Solutions. From “Ideas to Innovation: The Product Development Process” to “Taxes Tracking Best Practices,” the day provided a variety of networking and learning opportunities for all types of Avionté users.

Additionally, the Great River Court room had representatives from nearly every Avionté department to help with technical, payroll, implementation, support and product questions as well as share more about the exciting features and functionality to come in Q3 and Q4 of 2018. Clients were also able to browse and talk to more than 15 Avionté partners on the lower level outside of the Minnesota Grand Ballroom.

The day wrapped up at 5:00 p.m. and then continued with an evening event at Saint Paul’s historic Wabasha Street Caves at 7:00 p.m. The historic caves in Saint Paul were transformed into a nightclub called the “Castle Royal”, and for CONNECT, were transformed into a 1920’s themed night filled with cave tours, cocktails and dancing. A live performance from the a cappella band Due North entertained the crowd throughout the night. It was an amazing day followed by an amazing night!
