Avionté Hope: It's Been Another Great Year

The Avionté Hope Foundation, launched in January 2012, is wrapping up its third year. The Foundation was launched by the founders of Avionté Staffing Software, who wanted to create an environment for Avionté employees to give back, and for the company to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals living in the surrounding community.

So far, Avionté Hope and Avionté employees have donated over $100,000 to local non-profits and organizations, and over 1,300 hours have been spent by Avionté employees volunteering. Avionté has partnered and/or volunteering with over 30 local non-profit organizations in the past three years. And it’s been a busy couple of months!

In early November, Avionté began collected over 260 pounds of food at the office, which was donated to Second Harvest Heartland, an organization that warehouses and distributes food to local food shelves, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior community centers and children’s after school programs located across the state.

When December hit, the Avionté Hope committee set its sights on opportunities and charities to get involved with that were collecting gifts for the holiday season. First, the Avionté Hope Foundation partnered with KDWB for the second consecutive year to help give four deserving families $1,000 Cub Foods gift cards each through the KDWB Christmas Wish program. For over 20 years, KDWB has worked to find and give to local families, individuals and organizations in need of help during the holiday season.

This December, a large group of employees also volunteered to take some time to help local non-profits assemble and give Christmas gifts to kids, teens, and families this year. The group worked with the local non-profit The Link to help them wrap their holiday gifts and to bake items for those staying at their housing program. Later that same day, two teams of Avionté employees volunteered to go out and buy over $2,000 worth of wish list items, and delivered them to two local non-profits: the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery and Avenues for Homeless Youth. See the post on the Avionte Hope blog for pictures of the items and drop offs.

It’s been another great year – and we’re looking forward to seeing what we can do in 2015!
