Since our last check in, there are a lot of things our employees have been involved in through the Avionté Hope Foundation! When we last touched base in mid-June, we were finishing up our volunteering work camp week with Habitat for Humanity – Twin Cities, helping to restore a two-story, four-bedroom house in St. Paul, Minnesota. We plan on continuing to be involved with the Habitat for Humanity, and we’re excited to be sponsoring Habitat for Humanity’s Raise Your Glass for Tomorrow event on August 30th!
A few weeks after our week with Habitat, a group of Avionte employees participated in the 2014 Warrior Dash in Hastings, Minnesota on Saturday, July 12. A percentage of the proceeds from the race go to benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Soon after Warrior Dash, Avionté got involved with a benefit one of our employees is involved in each year in White Bear Lake, Minnesota called the Tour De Bar Bike Benefit. For 26 years, a committee has organized this event, and all proceeds go to a White Bear Lake resident that is battling terminal cancer. This year, they were able to raise $6,900!
In early August, the American Staffing Association announced Avionté as a winner this year of their annual ASA Care Award, which recognizes four staffing firms, one associate member, and one ASA-affiliated chapter each year for their corporate social responsibility initiatives. We made the list alongside Volt Workforce Solutions, Innovative Employee Solutions, Rangam Consultants, Select People Solutions, and the Georgia Staffing Association.
And this month, we jumped on board the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge social media trend (search #ALSIceBucketChallenge) and we first challenged six of our partners and all of our clients to participate to help us increase our donation to the ALS Association. Soon after sending out our first challenge, our partners Global Cash Card nominated us back, and later, our Operations team was challenged by our clients QPS Employment Group. And so it continued!
