It’s so exciting to see a positive YTD for Gross Payroll! I continue to be amazed by how consistent our recovery has been, both in respect to reliability and strength. How many other industries are recovering 7% every month?!

Going forward, I’m going to change things up a bit – emphasizing global statistics each week and then bringing in state/province numbers in the last week of the month. I know everyone is busy so I’ll keep it simple and not overwhelm with graphs!
We’ve added New Talent to the mix.
New Talent is simply defined as new talent records entered that week. It’s a good proxy for new individuals looking for work. This week was a solid week at 1.9% Week-over-Week, bringing the 4-week total to a healthy 5.6% growth. This pattern is consistent with the other major indices.
Another note – the mean pay rate went up to $16.79/hour, up from $16.53 two weeks ago (1.6%) and the highest rate since the end of May.
